We humans used to be part of nature. Nature offered us everything we needed to live off. We depended on it and it was all we had. Over thousands of years our bodies adapted and evolved to find the perfect balance within the environment that we lived in.
Over the last few decades this environment has changed dramatically.
Our diet has changed; we have started eating processed food, sugar and fructose, lots of carbohydrates and, of course, a lot of meat
The food itself has changed; we have started to genetically modify our food for different reasons and critically nobody knows what the longterm effects of this will be on our bodies.
The way we grow our food has changed; we have changed from traditional agriculture to intensive agriculture where a lot of pesticides on plants and medicines for animals are used
The way we use our environment has changed we pollute our environment by intensive agriculture, eating meat, transportation, industries and by over consuming
The way we traditionally healed sick people has changed; in ancient times Hippocrates said “let thy food be thy medicine, let thy medicine be thy food”. These days when we get ill, all we believe in are pharmaceutical drugs. Most doctors don’t even know what good food and taking supplements does to a body. However, they can’t help it as they are educated in subscribing medicines, not vitamines or plants.
We don’t consider ourselves part of nature anymore, but we still are. If we harm nature, we harm ourselves. We’re no longer in tune with ourselves or our surroundings. We’re too busy working, earning money and striving for bigger, better, flashier things than our neighbours. We have a bad case of ‘keeping up with the Jones’ and it is killing us.
We’ve lost focus on what is really important.
We’re destroying our home; our planet and it is making us ill. Cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, cancer, MS, Alzheimer’s, Hashimoto’s’, Graves disease, food allergies, the list seems endless.
I know this might all sound a bit depressing and I truly believe this is the point where most people end up ignoring it because this is the easy option. But if you allow yourself to think beyond this point, to just think a few steps ahead, you can change the future. Your future. Your health. And that of the people you love.
With this knowledge you’ll be able to anticipate what’s going on in the world and you can make a different choice. Take the lead, inform yourself and start healing yourself and your loved ones. It is never too late to start your own journey.
